Painting Bulbs and Using Light
In 2007 I was working on a project and began experimenting with sand blasting onto bulbs. Unfortunately the sandblasting damaged the bulb in most tests. This was the one bulb that survived and I feel it worked well. For teaching I think the idea of getting students to paint on glass using approved glass paints could be a lovely project for anything from colour theory and interior design to using symbols on bulbs for a logo design project using something like sharpie markers.

Here are some examples I found on the internet which could be inspirational visual aids. Pattern and different ways of applying the paint (sponging on layers, mixing colour on the glass surface) could be explored to create different light effects.
