 Simple Exploration with Batik

I asked this student to explore different techniques for batik by simple mark making with wax, dripping dyes and the dipping the piece in 2 different dyes.

Batik through a theme of 'fashion'

This student was investigating the theme of fashion and handbags. She made this batik with two dips and hand colouring. She also used stitching and glued beads to complete the piece.

I offered this 2nd year student a choice to use either batik or fabric pens and paint to decorate a shopping bag that she could then use herself.
